Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyössä tutkittiin toimeksiantajayrityksen kannattavuutta vuosina 2014–2019 ja 2021–2022. Tutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena. Toimeksiantajayritys oli Tanssistudio All-Star Oy. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli saada tietoa yrityksen kannattavuuden nykytilasta ja kehitysehdotuksia kan-nattavuudelle tulevaisuudessa, jotta kannattavuutta saataisiin kehitettyä vaikeiden koronapandemiavuosien, 2019–2022, jälkeen.
Kannattavuuden tilaa arvioitiin benchmarking-prosessin avulla tutkien tilinpäätöksiä ja kannattavuuden tunnuslukuja. Tutkimuksen teoriaosassa perehdyttiin taiteen ja musiikin koulutus -toimialan kannattavuuteen, kannattavuuteen tilinpäätösanalyysissä, kannattavuuden tunnuslukuihin sekä kannattavuuden kehittämiseen. Tutkimuksen empiirinen osuus toteutettiin benchmarking-prosessina, jossa kohdeyrityksen kannattavuutta vertailtiin benchmark-yritysten kannattavuuteen.
Tutkimus osoitti, että Tanssistudio All-Star Oy:n kannattavuuden tila on heikentynyt vaikeiden koronapandemiavuosien jälkeen. Tanssistudiolla on kuitenkin edellytykset jatkaa liiketoimintaansa ja parantaa kannattavuuttaan hyvän vakavaraisuuden ja maksuvalmiuden ansiosta. Benchmark-yrityksiltä löydettiin kehitysehdotuksia kannattavuuden kehittämiseen ja todettiin, että myös tanssikouluilla on mahdollisuus harjoittaa kannattavaa liiketoimintaa. In this thesis the profitability of the target company was investigated during years 2014-2019 and 2021-2022.This study was accomplished as a qualitative study. The client company was Tanssistudio All-Star Oy. The goal of the study was to obtain information on the current state of profitability and development proposals for profitability in the future, so that profitability could be developed after the difficult coronavirus pandemic years 2019-2022.
The state of profitability was assessed using benchmarking process by investigating financial statements and key figures of profitability. In the theoretical part of the study, the profitability of the art and music education industry, profitability in financial statement analysis, key figures of profitability and the development of profitability were studied. The empirical part of the study was accomplished as a benchmarking process, where the profitability of the target company was compared to the profitability of the benchmark companies.
The study showed that the profitability of Tanssistudio All-Star Oy has deteriorated after the difficult coronavirus pandemic years. However, the dance studio has the qualifications to continue its business and improve its profitability thanks to good solvency and liquidity. Development proposals for improving profitability, were found from the benchmark companies and it was concluded that dance schools also have the opportunity to run profitable business.
