Creating online store : Hallelujahkoru

Abstract

Objective of this project was to create operational online store for case company. First steps of this project were conducting research on theory of e-commerce, analyzing competitors and analyzing most popular online stores operating in Finland. Interviews with stakeholders were conducted to gain information about expectations of owners related to the online store. After gathering enough information on this subject, thorough planning process took place to ensure every aspect are included properly to achieve best possible result. Next steps focused on choosing the correct platform for this project to match the budget set by stakeholders, requirements for the store and limited technical expertise of thesis project worker. After the correct platform were defined, actual creation work began using guidelines set up in the start of the project.

As result of this project case company Hallelujahkoru now has an operational online store that drives their revenue online presence higher. Online store-built matches stakeholders’ expectations and they are pleased about quality of the work. In conclusion building a successful online store requires plenty of theorical research and knowledge in addition to basic level technical expertise. Also, basic level of creativity and visual eye is required in order to build pages to be visually attractive.
