Nykytilakartoitustyökalun kehittämisen tukeminen uusien kiertotalousliiketoimintamallien löytämiseksi

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tukea pk-yrityksille suunnatun nykytilakartoitus-arviointityökalun kehittämistä. Työkalussa arvioidaan yrityksen nykytilaa uusien kiertotalouden liiketoimintamallien kehittämiseksi. Tarkoituksena oli tutkia, täyttyykö arviointityökalussa jo oleva sisältö sekä antaa kehitysehdotuksia arviointityökalun käytettävyydestä sen testaamisen jälkeen. Työn toimeksiantaja oli Hämeen ammattikorkeakoulun tutkimusyksikkö HAMK Smart, ja työtä tehtiin KIITO-hankkeelle. Hanke tukee Kanta- ja Päijät-Hämeen pk-yrityksiä uusien kiertotalouden liiketoimintamallien kehittämisessä ja käyttöönotossa.

Tutkimuksen teoriataustassa avattiin aiheeseen liittyviä käsitteitä kirjallisuuden ja verkkosivustoilta löytyvien aineistojen avulla. Kirjallisuuden perusteella pyrittiin validoimaan arviointityökalussa jo oleva sisältö ja kirjaamaan se tuloksiin. Käyttökokemuksia kerättiin puolistrukturoidun haastattelun avulla kahdelta yritykseltä arviointityökalun prototyypin testaamisen yhteydessä. Aineistoa tarkasteltiin laadullisen sisällönanalyysin periaattein. Arviointityökalun todettiin olevan kattava ja hyödyllinen, ja sen kehittämiseksi muutoksia olisi tehtävä kieliasuun ja termien selkeyteen liittyen.

Lopputuloksena syntyi kehitysehdotukset arviointityökalun käytettävyyden selkeyttämiseksi. Opinnäytetyön luotettavuus kärsi tutkimuksen pienestä otannasta, mutta tuloksia voidaan hyödyntää KIITO-hankkeessa alkuperäisen tarkoituksen mukaan pk-yritysten nykytilan kartoittamiseksi osana kiertotalouden liiketoimintamallien kehittämistä.

The aim of the thesis was to support the development of the assessment tool. The purpose of the assessment tool is to survey the present state of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in circular economy business models development. Another aim was to examine whether the theoretical points and elements already contained in the assessment tool were met and to provide development proposals on the usability of the assessment tool after testing it. The commissioner of the thesis was The HAMK Smart Research Unit of the Häme University of Applied Sciences, connected to the unit’s KIITO project. The starting point for the thesis was to gather information on the subject. The theoretical background of the study, based on the literature review and relevant materials found on websites, opened up concepts related to the subject and efforts were made to validate the points already in the assessment tool and record them in the outcomes. User experiences were collected using a semi-structured interview with two companies during the prototype testing of the assessment tool. Thereafter, the material was analysed with qualitative content analysis. In conclusion, the tool was found to be useful and comprehensive, but on the other hand, changes should be made to develop it in terms of clarity and language. In addition, the reliability of the thesis was affected by the small sample size of the study. However, the results and proposals can be used in the KIITO project and to map the current situation of SMEs when developing circular economy business models with the help of the designed assessment tool following the circular economy aspects discussed in the thesis.
