Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyönä kehitettiin työllistymisen hyötyjä kuvaava opas, jota voidaan käyttää kotoutumisajalla, työvoiman ulkopuolella olevien kotiäitien kotoutumista edistävässä toiminnassa. Opinnäytetyö tehtiin toimeksiantona Turun kaupungin maahanmuuttajapalveluille.
Oppaalle oli erityistä tarvetta, koska maahanmuuttajaäitien työllistyminen Suomessa on heikkoa. Työllistyminen on oleellinen osa maahanmuuttajan kotoutumisprosessia. Vaikka se ei olisikaan juuri sillä hetkellä ajankohtaista, oppaan tarkoitus on kannustaa pohtimaan omaa työllistymistä tulevaisuudessa.
Kehittämistyönä toteutettu opas on suomenkielinen ja infograafinen. Käytettyjä menetelmiä olivat soveltuvan lähdekirjallisuuden pohjalta laadittu tietoperusta ja ryhmäkeskustelut. Lisäksi tärkeässä roolissa olivat opinnäytetyön tekijöiden itsereflektio ja toimeksiantajataholta saatu palaute. Oppaan suunnittelu toteutettiin Canvalla, joka on graafisen suunnittelun työkalu.
Oppaan laatimisessa kiinnitettiin erityistä huomiota kohderyhmän näkökulman lisäksi kielellisen ilmaisun selkeyteen. Työllistymisen hyödyt tuodaan esille myönteiseen sävyyn lyhyissä tekstikappaleissa. Lisäksi oppaassa on omaan ajatteluun ja keskusteluun kannustavia kysymyksiä. Kuvitus tukee tekstin sisältöä. Toimeksiantaja voi käyttää opasta esimerkiksi suomen kielen opetuksen yhteydessä. As a thesis, a guide describing the benefits of employment was developed. It is suitable to be used in activities advancing integration for stay-at-home mothers who are in the integration period, outside the workforce. The thesis was done as an assignment for the client.
There was a special need for a guide because the employment of immigrant mothers in Finland is weak. Employment is an essential part of an immigrant's integration process. Even if it is not relevant at that particular moment, the purpose of the guide is to encourage to think about one’s own employment in the future.
The guide was implemented as a development work. It is in Finnish and has an infographic format. The methods used were a knowledge base prepared on the basis of applicable source literature and group discussions. In addition, the self-reflection of the thesis authors and the feedback received from the immigrant services of the city of Turku played an important role. The design of the guide was created using Canva, which is a graphic design tool.
In preparing the guide, special attention was paid not only to the perspective of the target group, but also to the clarity of linguistic expression. The benefits of employment are brought out in a positive tone in short text paragraphs. In addition, the guide contains questions to encourage one’s own thinking and discussion. The illustrations support the content of the text. The client may use the guide, for example, in the context of teaching the Finnish language.
