Tiivistelmä
Over the years, the importance of implementing sustainability and quality management in businesses has increased. Companies can pursue various standard certifications to demonstrate responsibility and other factors to investors, customers, and stakeholders.
This thesis was commissioned by Pimatic Oy. It specialises in low-pressure hydraulics and applied pneumatics. The company implemented a project to assess, illustrate, and transfer processes into a new management system platform called IMS. This project started at the end of year 2022. This thesis aimed to examine how the company’s sales processes are illustrated in the IMS system and how they align with the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
This thesis analysed the project by using action research. Action research enabled working on the project while simultaneously implementing the research. The research was implemented cyclically by learning, planning, implementing, and evaluating, which enabled constant improvement in the project. There were three evaluations: the first was at the project's starting point, the second was the audit, and the author gave the final evaluation in the form of research results to finalise the sales process part of the project.
With the evaluation results, the company gained aspects to improve and implement before the subsequent auditing of the sales processes. As a result of the research, not only did the company gain ideas for improvement for the sales processes, but it was also assured that all the necessary core processes were described and not lost in the project. However, the management system project will continue, and the sustainability aspects regarding CSRD will be implemented in more detail as soon as the legislation is created.
