Tiivistelmä
This thesis is a research-based study that examines employee wellbeing in remote work and the influence of leadership in this context. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the factors impacting employee wellbeing in remote work and find out how to improve in the future. Additionally, the interviews study how returning to office impacted wellbeing.
Thesis theory was implemented as a research-based study by gathering information already available. Interviews were used to collect information from employee and supervisor/leader perspective. There were four people interviewed where two interviewees were employees and two were in leadership position during their time in remote work. By comparing their responses, wider set of solutions were discovered.
Important keywords in this thesis are, employee wellbeing, remote work leadership and Covid-19. In addition, the theoretical framework of this thesis included studying these aspects to help understand the background of the research interview. Theoretical framework supports the interview answers and vice versa.
Based on the interviews and research, working towards better future together means that people should return to offices where brainstorming happens naturally and having spontaneous conversations spark ideas and improve creativity.
