The hospitality sector represents a core component of the Swiss economy, renowned worldwide for providing exceptional experiences in this domain. As a highly people-centric industry reliant on skilled employees, human resources management (HRM) is essential for a success in this sector.
This thesis aims to identify best HR practices among leading hospitality and the impact of Swiss culture on them. This thesis will follow a research approach that includes literature review, bench marking of standards, and interviews with HR professionals of a renowned Swiss luxurious Resort.
Findings indicate Swiss culture significantly shapes HR approaches. Traits like consensus decision-making, pragmatism, and precision are reflected in their communication style, performance based practices, and structured processes. Interviews reveal direct engagement as well, recognizing all roles, and mutual respect foster inclusion crucial for success. Continuous development through training and networking maintains productivity aligned personal evolution.
Differences to other nations and best elements cultivating positivity also emerged. Research establishes that the integration of cultural attributes such as the promotion of cooperation, fairness, orderliness, and progression in HR practices have a positive influence on organizations. It also proved that maximizing human factors through rewarding, transparent communication, and consideration elevates performance, satisfaction and thus prosperity. This fusion de fines excellence in hospitality and contributes to the industry’s growth and global impact.
The study therefore delimits the results, showing that the focus on a unique case might not be sufficient for providing complete conclusions. Further examination on longer periods and diverse hotels could expand understanding of sustainably managing talent for continued distinction in world hospitality.
