Tiivistelmä
The objective for this thesis was to demonstrate the progress and required steps to have a functional procurement dashboard for the procurement department. Sumitomo SHI FW Energy has an excessive history in energy markets and due to recent changes towards digitalization a data analysing tool is found necessary to boost data transparency and strategic advantage.
In this thesis data was gathered by interviewing potential end-users and observing the day-to-day operations of procurement department. Qualitative research methods were applied in this project to provide interviewees with optimal settings for expressing their desires regarding the outcome.
The thesis explored the various stages of the project's development progression. Given that procurement in a global environment can be exceedingly vague, it was imperative to establish clear structures and rules that could accommodate any user's needs, regardless of location.
The timeline of the thesis was set within the first seven months of the project. This influenced the conclusion to be more of a forecast rather than a definitive vision of the project's completion. However, it still allowed for reflection on past mistakes and consideration of what the short-term future might hold for the dashboard. With the information gathered in this project, the company can apply these learnings to other departments.
