Supply Chain Management is one of the potential processes of the business organisation. Businesses' ability to compete in foreign markets as well as run successful worldwide operations depends heavily on supply chain management. Global Brand Private Limited has an extensive global supply chain management that enables them to import various tech products from various vendors from all over the world. The company is one of the biggest distributors in its local market. The organisation also explores global markets and desires to extend the present operation of the organisation.
The thesis explored various global supply chain management practices of the organisation with the aim of identifying relevant SCM models and theories that can enhance the supply chain practices of organizations operating globally. The study reviewed key SCM practices such as Agile SCM, Demand-Driven SCM, and Triple-A SCM, along with widely used models such as the SCOR Model, Bullwhip Effect Theory, Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI), and Theory of Constraints (TOC). The study provided an overview of each model or theory, discussed their theoretical foundations, and highlighted their potential benefits in improving supply chain performance.
The findings suggested that organizations can enhance their global operations and competitiveness by adopting and implementing relevant SCM models and theories, which can help optimize supply chain processes, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and enhance consumer fulfilment. The study concluded by emphasizing the importance of aligning SCM practices with the unique requirements of global operations to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. Further research and practical implications were discussed, highlighting the need for organizations to continually evaluate and evolve their SCM practices in the dynamic global business environment.
