Tiivistelmä
Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli selvittää, miten urheilukilpailusta tai urheiluottelusta raportoidaan onnistuneesti seuraavana päivänä ilmestyvässä sanomalehden printtiversiossa 2020-luvulla.Tutkimuksessa olivat kirjallisten lähteiden lisäksi olennaisessa osassa myös suomalaisten maakuntalehtien urheilujournalismin ammattilaisten kanssa tehdyt haastattelut.
2020-luvun painetun sanomalehden urheiluraporttien kannalta merkittävässä osassa ovat tarinat urheilutapahtumista tai henkilöistä niiden taustalla. Hyvä urheiluraportti kertoo lukijalleen jotain, mitä urheilun seuraaja ei saa tietoonsa tapahtumaa tai tilastoja itse katsomalla. Urheilutoimittajan pitää nykypäivänä myös pystyä urheiluraporteissaan analysoimaan urheilutapahtumassa näkemäänsä ja pohtia syitä, jotka johtivat kilpailun tai ottelun lopputulokseen. Urheiluraporttien tekemiseen vaikuttaa osaltaan myös pula resursseista.Urheilutoimittajien lukumäärää on monissa medioissa vähennetty ja lehden tekemisen aikataulut ovat kiristyneet, mikä aiheuttaa ongelmia urheilutoimituksille.
Urheiluraportteja arvostetaan ja ne koetaan osaksi 2020-luvun painettua sanomalehteä, mutta alan toimintaympäristö muuttuu jatkuvasti ja urheilujournalisminkin on kehityttävä sen mukana. The purpose of this thesis was to find out how to successfully report about sports competition or match for the next day´s print edition of the newspaper in 2020´s. In addition to written sources, an essential part of the research also included interviews with sports journalism professionals from Finnish provincial newspapers.
In terms of the sports reports of the 2020´s printed newspaper, a significant part consists of stories about sports events or the people behind them.A good sports report tells to the reader something that sports follower cannot have from the event or the statistics. Today, a sports reporter must also be able to analyse that what he saw in a sports event in his sports reports and reflect on the reasons that led to the result of the competition or match. The lack of resources also affects the making of sports reports. The number of sports editors has been reduced in many media and the schedules for producing the newspaper have tightened, which causes problems for sports editors.
Sports reports are valued and perceived as a part of the printed newspaper of the 2020´s but the industry´s operating environment is constantly changing and sports journalism must also constantly develop along with it.
