The purpose of this thesis was to examine the impact of a specific executive coaching programme, Sateentekijät, on participants' self-confidence and identify the key factors influencing these outcomes. Additionally, one objective of this study was to explore how any improvement in self-confidence influences performance.
The research employed a qualitative approach, utilising semi-structured one-to-one interviews as the primary method for data collection. A thematic analysis was employed to sort and analyse the data.
The findings of this study revealed an enhancement in self-confidence throughout the executive coaching process. The critical elements contributing to this development included a supportive environment, fostering self-growth, establishing a personal leadership identity, expanding perception of leadership, and the timing of the coaching intervention. Enhanced self-confidence in improved performance, characterised by heightened courage, execution power, and reflective skills.
This study contributed valuable insights to Sateentekijät coaches regarding the effectiveness of executive coaching on participants' self-confidence and performance. It also showed these critical elements influenced the observed outcomes.
