This thesis explores the transformative impact political correctness on leadership and management within the restaurant industry. This study delves into the dynamics between cultural movements and the strategic decisions made by restaurant leaders to navigate an increasingly socially conscious world.
Simultaneously, this study examines the challenges posed by the different areas of political correctness culture that restaurant leaders need to carefully steer their businesses through, while maintaining the delicate balance between authenticity and keeping in mind the consequences of potential controversial actions. As we uncover the strategies used by leaders, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of how modern-day leadership in restaurants has evolved to align with the values of an ever-discerning and socially aware consumer base.
Ultimately, the findings offer thought provoking observations for future restaurant leaders seeking to adapt, thrive in, and/or contribute to the evolving line of work of restaurant leadership and management shaped by modern day society.
