Background: In the 21st century, the most dangerous disease condition for the public might be the
Alzheimer's disease (AD). There are various ways of the effect of Alzheimer’s disease on the
dependency of its victims. The aim of this literature review is to guide nurses in their role of caring
for patients with Alzheimer’s disease for better outcome.
Method: Literature review method was used. Data were sought from three scientific databases
CINAHL, Medline and PubMed. After data search, screening, and critical appraisal a total of five
articles was role of nurse in improving the quality of life of Alzheimer's disease.
Results: Finding form performed analysis resulted in three categories, first category was Increasing
knowledge of Alzheimer's disease which presented the health education and development of
nurses' knowledge. Second category was nursing care which develop methods in the caring
process with Alzheimer's disease and last category was nurses' support which presented
healthcare workers’ support.
