Within the ever-evolving realm of project management, the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) introduces a spectrum of challenges and prospects. This thesis delves into the collaborative interplay between AI systems and project managers, with the objective of explaining the complexities, requisites, and advantages of this alliance.
The challenges of collaboration are multifaceted, encompassing technical, organizational, and human factors. Understanding these challenges is crucial for fostering effective collaboration.
Requirements for collaboration highlight the need for clear communication channels, robust data infrastructure, and adaptable frameworks. Addressing these requirements is essential for facilitating seamless integration and maximizing the potential of AI in project management.
The significance of AI and PM collaboration transcends simple efficiency improvements, encompassing augmented decision-making, streamlined procedures, and inventive issue resolution. This study delves into the concrete and abstract advantages of collaboration between AI systems and project managers, emphasizing its potential for transformation.
Drawing from real-world scenarios and current practices, this research evaluates the existing partnership between AI and project managers. Through a combination of research and interviews, insights are gleaned to inform future collaboration efforts and optimize project management practices.
This thesis, initiated in September 2023 and concluded in April 2024, underscores the role of AI as a valuable tool for augmenting project management capabilities. By leveraging AI's strengths while mitigating potential drawbacks, project managers can usher in a new era of innovation and success.
