With the rapid expansion of e-commerce comes an increase in logistics systems' importance. Intelligent technologies, including automation and artificial intelligence have revolutionized warehousing operations by improving efficiency and sustainability; this study seeks to analyze their effects on e-commerce warehouse storage operations using Jingdong and Amazon platforms as case studies for understanding their application.
A mixed-methods approach was used to explore the impact of technology adoption on efficiency and cost. The study, which included a detailed analysis, found that intelligent logistic technologies such as robotics, automated storage and retrieval, and big-data analytic have enhanced warehouse operations through optimizing storage processes and reducing labor costs.
Qualitative findings of case studies demonstrate substantial improvements in sustainability practices. These include improved energy efficiency and reduced waste. Quantitative evidence supports these findings by demonstrating significant increases in cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency across the board.
Integration of intelligent logistics technology in e-commerce warehouses has not only shown to increase operational efficiency and reduce the environmental impact, but also to streamline operations. This integration encourages more eco-friendly, sustainable practices and makes a strong case for their adoption in the industry. The application of these technologies is a great way to improve logistics, especially as e-commerce grows.
