Efecte-järjestelmä IT-projektinhallinnan työkaluna

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tutustua Efecten palvelunhallinnan ratkaisuihin ja projektinhallintaan, toteuttaa haastattelututkimus projektipäälliköille projekteista IT-alalla ja projektinhallintajärjestelmistä sekä lopuksi toteuttaa Efecte-pohjainen projektinhallintajärjestelmä.

Efecten tuotteet ovat suurten organisaatioiden käytössä erilaisiin palvelunhallinnan tarpeisiin, mm. IT-palvelunhallintaan, HR-palvelunhallintaan, sopimustenhallintaan ja lukemattomiin muihin tarkoituksiin. Efecten tuotteet ovat räätälöitäviä eri tarpeisiin ja on näin ollen erittäin soveltuvia myös projektinhallintaan.

Opinnäytetyössä tutustuttiin projektinhallintaan erityisesti IT-alan näkökulmasta. Selvitettiin kirjallisuudesta IT-alan projektinhallintamenetelmiä, projektinhallintajärjestelmien roolia sekä IT-alan haasteita projektinhallinnassa. Lisäksi haastateltiin Notkia IT:n projektipäälliköitä samoista aiheista. Näistä koostettiin vaatimukset nykyaikaiselle projektinhallintaratkaisulle.

Näiden vaatimusten pohjalta luotiin uusi Efecte-pohjainen projektinhallintajärjestelmä, joka entistä paremmin palvelee projektipäälliköitä ja projektitiimejä jatkuvassa muutoksessa olevalla IT-alalla tehostaen monien organisaatioiden toimintaa ja tuloksellisuutta.

The objective of this study was to study project management and interview project managers to create a project management system focused on the project managers’ needs. Efecte is a popular service management solution for large organisation’s IT-service management, HR-management and contract management and is very suitable for project management. Efecte shines in configurability for many different needs.

The study explored project management especially in the IT-sector. This section of the study answered the questions about what tools there are for project management and what are popular project management methods and what are the special challenges for projects in the field of Information Technology.

The interviews with Notkia IT Project Managers gave insight into their experiences leading many different projects with different goals and challenges, what features are essential for project management systems and what shortcomings the existing software’s have. Then using all information gathered at this point, we created a Project Management Solution in Efecte that better serves the needs of the target demographic of the project management professionals and the project teams and improves the efficiency of the projects in the dynamic field of information technology.
