Through comprehensive research and analysis, this paper examines the operational management challenges encountered by low-cost carriers (LCCs) in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC), as well as potential opportunities for development and strategies to address these challenges. By conducting an extensive literature review, multiple case studies, and a questionnaire survey, the author aims to validate and expand the applicability of traditional operation management theories within the realm of LCCs. Simultaneously considering market competition, cost sensitivity, and policy regulations, feasible solutions are proposed to foster future growth of these airlines while uncovering significant prospects for LCCs expansion in the APAC.
This paper proposes that by optimizing cost control and fuel management, strengthening human resource management, enhancing operational efficiency and technology investment, refining market positioning and risk management strategies, expanding service scope and global market influence, as well as increasing investment in environmental sustainability, we can effectively address the challenges faced by LCCs in operation management while promoting their sustain-able development and fostering innovation.
An in-depth analysis of the impact of geographic and cultural diversity in the APAC on the operational management of LCCs highlights the importance of considering these differences when understanding the operational challenges faced by LCCs in this region.
