Digital signage is an important modern communication strategy which offers dynamic and versatile platforms for spreading information. This thesis presents the development of an RSS feed widget into the iDiD digital signage system aimed at enhancing real-time content delivery.
The thesis begins by exploring iDiD as a company and then moves on to what digital signage is, also explaining what RSS is and how it is important for digital signage.
The core of the thesis is the detailed explanation of the development of the widget breaking down the code with a focus on making it easy to understand even for people with limited knowledge about programming or web development.
Development challenges are addressed, and solutions are discussed, giving insight to the fact that almost always development does not go without challenges.
