In the current economic development context, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, as one of the most important economic regions in China, the siting of its air cargo hub is of great significance for enhancing regional logistics efficiency and promoting economic integration. As a commonly used decision analysis tool, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) can effectively deal with the complexity and multi-criteria decision problems in the site selection process.
First, an evaluation index system containing multiple levels of geographic location, economic development level, and transportation accessibility is established by the AHP method. These indicators not only involve the direct operational efficiency of the air cargo hub, but also include the consideration of the impact on the neighboring economy and the long-term development potential.
Second, each indicator was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively through expert scoring and weight allocation. This process places special emphasis on the importance of hub siting to enhance regional internal and external connectivity, as well as the key role of air cargo hubs as national emergency material transportation.
Finally, taking all factors into consideration, a proposal is made to establish an air cargo hub in the central region of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. This region is not only geographically in the center of China, but also connects the economically developed regions in the east and the rapidly developing regions in the west, with high population density and concentration of economic activities, which makes it an ideal choice for building an efficient air cargo network.
To summarize, the AHP-based study on the location of air cargo hubs in the Yangtze River Economic Belt not only provides a scientific basis for specific site selection, but also provides an important reference for improving China's air cargo network and enhancing the level of logistics services.
