Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this thesis is to explore the effects of international experiences during a student’s degree studies and their impact on the graduate’s life academically, professionally, and personally. Students can utilize this information to enhance their study experience, improve their employability during and after studies, and enhance their overall quality of life.
This analysis method helped to gain an overall understanding and factual insight into this topic. The research delved into the effects of previous studies, the cur-rent state of Finnish degree education, the difficulties of employment for graduates, and how previously studied research took international experience into consideration when exploring these topics.
The result of this research clearly states the benefits of international experiences during academic pursuits. Degree graduates with international experience are hired quicker, into better-paying jobs, and are given more professional responsibility than those without this experience. They also experience improvements in self-knowledge and various other self-image attributes, making the overall benefit of international experiences very noticeable. It is evident that international experiences during a student’s academic journey not only facilitate access to better employment opportunities within their field but also expedite this process compared to students lacking this advantage.
