This thesis aims to produce a report and a practical guide on service imports to Finland and the EU supported by digital tools. No simple and comprehensive guide is available in the field, and information on the topic is scattered in different sources. The aim is to create a clear referenceframework for operators planning to import services.
The knowledge base is built around the service import process. It details the process, drawingon online sources, source literature, and interviews with professionals. The thesis has resultedin a guide that deals with the process from an operator's perspective and presents the issues to be considered at different stages, such as choosing the form of service importation, selecting new markets, choosing partners, using trade agreements, and cultural and legal factors.
The study examines the role of digital tools in streamlining the process. It introduces the topic by reviewing the current state and prospects of digitalization in the EU and Finland. The section on digital tools concludes with a reflection on current and future digital innovations that support global trade.
The thesis results are essential for understanding the service import process and its challenges. They provide valuable information for companies, especially those considering expanding their operations to Finland.
