Electronic commerce offers businesses an easily accessible opportunity to expand their operations and connect with customers worldwide. Over the past decade, e-commerce has been steadily rising, and an increasing number of Finnish online businesses are encouraged to expand their sales abroad.
This Thesis supports a Finnish client company’s effort to expand its online retail business to Poland. Through theory, interviews, methodology, and market research analysis, the Thesis examines the suitability of the company’s offerings for the target market. The focus on the Thesis is on international business and private consumer field of business, with the objective of creating well-structured strategy for expansion.
There are two interviews made for assistance. The interviewees include target company’s CEO and two representatives from an external company operating already in Poland. The Thesis provides basic information on implementing market entry strategies and offers concrete suggestions for internationalizing online retail.
