The aim of this thesis was to create a WordPress developer portfolio to be published online where it is ready to be presented in the case of applying for a new job. This thesis followed the guidelines of a portfolio based thesis of Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
WordPress is a content management system used for running websites and web developers can specialise in the field. The creation process was based on first presenting what the field of work encompasses, followed by research of relevant existing portfolio examples and finally the examination of personal work references.
Based on the research and personal work examination, a portfolio was planned and made into a final product. In addition to selecting the work references, the portfolio creation process included identifying which pieces of information are required or useful to be presented in the portfolio.
Planning and execution of the portfolio is followed by reflection of the end product and also what the entire process presented in terms of challenges and benefits. Finally, a discussion was provided on the thesis process itself which aids in further development of the portfolio in the future.
