Tiivistelmä
Timber has gotten more attention in the building industry recently because the usage of timber-concrete composite floors and the development of different composite systems has become more popular. While concrete is superior to timber in aspects of taking stress, fire safety, and sound insulation, timber represents an ecological material with positive qualities of taking tension and heat insulation. Through thoughtful combination, the advantages of both materials complement one another and create a highly efficient connection regarding floor systems.
Therefore, this thesis contemplates small scale tests affecting timber-concrete-composite slabs (TCC-slabs) with cross-liminated-timber. Since this thesis is founded upon a thorough review of the literature, the data presented is taken from scientific articles. The comparison between different tests and the connected results with respect to bending, shear, connections, and vibrations provide valuable information for further analysis in this topic.
Due to the fact that differences and similarities regarding materials, test arrangements and solutions cover a huge volume, the data was tracked using Microsoft Excel in order to establish a solid basis for a comparison.
Finally by summarizing all the given information, it is possible to develop an overview of necessary investigations regarding timber-concrete-composite slabs in the future.
