The aim of this study is to explore existing digital platforms in the field of education in the Baltic State region and identify functionality issues, opportunities to improve them and develop guidelines. The available information from the Ministries of Education and Science of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia and other responsible institutions about the digital platforms used in the field of education was collected.
An analysis of the digital education platforms, databases of the Baltic States and the Europass platform in certain technical aspects will also be carried out. As one of the public measurements related to the use of the platforms, a study on the usability aspects of the Europass platform in Latvia was used.
The common and different aspects of digital platforms in the field of education in the Baltic State region were analyzed in the context of functionality and usability.
From the collected information, possible shortcomings and opportunities for improving usability and functionality of digital platforms in the field of education in the Baltic State region guidelines were developed, which in the future could help to eliminate the existing shortcomings, as well as give the responsible institutions the opportunity to more promptly collect the essential aspects of functionality and usability from the conclusions of this study, so that new digital education platforms in the Baltic States region could be developed as successfully as possible.
The methodology used in the study may also be useful for similar studies in other countries.
