Tiivistelmä
In this thesis we examine the way in which immigrants, refugee and therefore migrants in general are integrated, and to do this we will examine their integration in political, social, economic, and educational contexts, in order to determine how they are welcomed, what they experienced and if they are integrated or not in the host countries. More specifically, I examine how political decisions and social behaviors of indigenous populations favor or prevent the integration of immigrants and refugees in two specific European countries which are France and Poland over a period of seven years, going from 2015 with the onset of the migration crisis, until 2023. For this research, I used the interpretivism philosophy, an inductive approach, and used archival research (e-books, website…). I chose a mono method and longitudinal studies and collected qualitative data which were collected and analyzed through NVivo 12.
Following my research, several points have been mentioned in the final results among which: race and religion are very often criteria that apply to determine how much the host society will be able to integrate an immigrant or a refugee, both mainly at economic, political and social level; as well as the fact that prejudices and false beliefs very often guiding the actions and decisions of many personalities as well political and known that of an ordinary person. As a recommendation for future research, it would be interesting to immerse yourself in the study of the reasons for fear of immigration and migrants in certain countries which were heard during the migration crisis, and the source of each of these fears, as well as research on how false beliefs persist and how they affect populations. Research on the manipulation of politicians through their speeches, for example, would also be interesting.
