As the globe grapples with the multiple difficulties posed by climate change, over population issues and so-cioeconomic inequities, the hospitality industry stands at the crossroads of economic expansion and envi-ronmental impact. The objective of this research is to better understand the existing status of responsible waste management from the perspective of both customers and directors of hospitality industry in Lagos Nigeria. To achieve this purpose, qualitative research methods were employed to collect secondary data from jour-nals, articles, and eBooks. Qualitative research approaches, including non-participant observation and semi-structured interviews, were used to collect primary data from a hotel in the Lagos, Nigeria. The author employed research meth-odologies to acquire perspectives from both customers with field-specific knowledge and those with little understanding of environmental sustainability. Based on the results, the study provided recommendations to policymakers and the industry practitioners on developmental ideas that can help with hospitality industry in carrying out sustainable waste manage-ment practices in Lagos Nigeria.
