Tiivistelmä
The thesis explores methods to integrate the theory of sustainable well-being into the User Experience (UX) Design process. This was done by applying the theory as part of an UX Design process of a website development project. The results of the applying process were clarified by developing a prototype of an UX design tool that would potentially help UX Designer to include more sustainable well-being practises for their design work.
The study applied the sustainable well-being theory within the context of UX research process by utilising a combination of co-creative workshops and stakeholder interviews as the data. The study was conducted as part of a website development project carried out together with the Cultural and Sports Association of Finnish Vocational Education and Training (SAKU).
Through data collection and analysis, a prototype for a comprehensive design tool was developed. The thesis reflects ways for applying sustainable well-being into UX design through the resulting prototype tool. The tool itself works as an opening for discussion, hopefully raising awareness of sustainable design considerations in the digital product development, serving as a practical resource for UX designers to incorporate ethical and socially responsible practices into their work.
