The subject of the study was global warming and cosmetics. How the cosmetic industry connects to global warming, what aspects of the industry contributes to it. Also, how sustainable development and legislations have been implemented. The aim was to bring awareness to the impact the cosmetic industry has on global warming regarding, consumption, waste, production and testing. Are consumers aware of it and do they make conscious decisions while purchasing cosmetics.
The theoretical part of the paper goes over the previously mentioned subjects more in detail. The theory was gotten from a plethora of different sources to have different perspectives on the matters. The study seeked answers to questions related to cosmetics and global warming. It was conducted on consumers to see what types of and how much product they use. Also, two industry professionals were asked questions via interview to then compare the answers.
In the result the view of the consumer is shown, how they view the cosmetic industry, how they purchase products and how much they purchase. They respond to questions connected to sustainability, vegan and cruelty free products’ use for example. Similarly, the industry professionals comment on the subject with their knowledge. They explain how the cosmetic industry has changed during their careers and how much they think about sustainability in cosmetics.
