The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to democratize web application development, particularly for aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative ideas but limited resources. Traditionally, the high cost of hiring developers has often been a barrier to entry. However, AI-powered tools utilizing prompt engineering techniques are changing this landscape.
The purpose of this thesis was to explore how prompt engineering empowers individuals, particularly website developers, to leverage AI for web application development, thereby fostering a future where even those with limited resources can turn their ideas into reality and contribute to a more inclusive innovation landscape. To accomplish this, AI models and prompt frameworks were studied to examine how a well-structured prompt can contribute to the web development process.
According to the results, prompt engineering has the potential to guide AI models, enabling developers to automate repetitive tasks like code generation, testing, and documentation, thereby accelerating development processes and potentially reducing reliance on memorizing complex code syntax. Through this shift, individuals are empowered to focus their creative energy on conceptualizing and designing their web applications.
