Tiivistelmä
The Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) emerged as an important alternative for the establishment of sustainable energy technology. By merging energy sources into a single element, these plants provide an ability to manage flow in the grid that changes according to market demand. This study endeavoured to find software that supports VPP management. Foundational requirements for the selection was the data collection, forecasting, decision making, and third-party data sources integration. As the focus was on the two chosen Software as a Service platforms, a special aim was also on the customized solutions. This thesis enables the development of community generation Virtual Power Plants, for which the implementation trials will start in Toholampi by Centria UAS.
