Tiivistelmä
This research assessed the impact of visual communication tools used in engineering project management. Effective communication has always played an important role in determining success, but it is even more important with challenging projects, such as engineering projects. The aim was to evaluate the different kinds of tools used for visual communication and their effectiveness: Gantt charts, CAD drawings, BIM, and AR/VR etc. in project management. A mixed method approach was adopted in this study combining quantitative surveys and qualitative thematic analysis as well a comprehensive literature review. Through the use of online questionnaires, data was gathered from 36 project managers about their perspectives and experiences. It was found from the result analysis that visual communication tools facilitated project planning, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement. Barriers to using visuals included lack of training, resistance to change, and high cost etc. In order to fully harness the potential of visual communication technologies for project management, it is essential that training programs be enhanced, and integration techniques be refined. Moreover, a strategic plan was developed based on the findings from the results about the implementation of visual communication in the project lifecycle. The findings provide further insight into the cur-rent debate about how to use visual communication more effectively in project management.
