This thesis examines the loss and waste of materials in residential renovation projects. The research quantifies the problem’s magnitude while considering project scope hence looking at its effects.
The thesis looks into communication among stakeholders, workplace culture, and behaviors of employees as it is concerned with what causes waste generation during residential renovations. Further to this point, it also gives thoughts on possible solutions together with good practices which include training programs as well as incentive structures for sustainable management practices towards materials utilization.
The purpose of the thesis is to study and investigate current situation coming with outcome by providing practical recommendations and insights for enhancing resource efficiency, reducing costs, saving raw materials and promoting sustainability within Remonttipartio Oy.
The study and investigation dig deeper into the root cause of damaged goods, why newly purchased items get damaged and ends into the waste. The collected data and analysis give a big image of current situation, shows problem’s bottleneck and guide with insights how to handle it.
The analysis used in this thesis will take place of fishbone chart, Pareto chart, interview employees via survey and project managers directly face to face at the construction sites.
