Due to their substantial economic contribution, small and medium-sized firms (SMEs) are given special attention in many emerging nations. The rapid growth of digital marketing significantly influences SME operations, influencing internal and external company settings and customer behavior. Particularly during and after the COVID-19 crisis, the use of digital platforms has grown significantly, with positive outcomes. In a nation like Bangladesh, the digitalization of SMEs can have a big effect on economic growth. Exploring the opportunities for economic growth through the enhancement of digital marketing strategies among SMEs in Bangladesh is the focus of this research. Because SMEs have a major role in employment and GDP growth in Bangladesh, they are an essential part of the country’s economy. However, a lack of capital, insufficient knowledge, and poor digital infrastructure prevent many SMEs from taking full advantage of digital marketing.
Using a combination of quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, the study uses a mixed-methods approach to collect detailed information from industry stakeholders, digital marketing specialists, and SME owners. Saunders Research Onion has adhered to the research methodology.
Digital marketing, particularly Facebook marketing and YouTube marketing, is being used much more frequently. Over a million newly established organizations only employ internet platforms for their marketing strategies. In this research, the researcher found that SMEs are essential to economic growth in Bangladesh because they stimulate innovation, job creation, and GDP contributions. Important challenges are also identified by the research. Effective government support is stressed as being crucial for enabling SME expansion and competitiveness in the global market. This support includes financial aid, policies, and infrastructure development. The study comes to the conclusion that enhancing digital marketing strategies in SMEs play a significant role to explore the opportunities of economic growth in Bangladesh.
