The study investigates the Gender Dynamics of Agriculture in Nigeria's Agricultural sector. The roles and challenges faced by men and women in this sector. A case study of Abia State. Gender Inequality has been one of the most intense issues plaguing African societies in recent times. The roles and challenges of men and women in the agricultural sector in Nigeria particularly Abia state is discussed in this study.
The study found that despite recent advances in technology and agricultural techniques, farmers still face challenges in the improvement of this sector.
More so, the study found that gender inequalities exist and pose a threat to the growth of this sector in Nigeria.
A survey method was used in this thesis. a structured questionnaire was prepared and distributed. A purposive sampling technique was used to purposely select respondents for the study.
The findings of the study show that there are gender gaps and female workforce patterns in the agricultural sector as this is shown in the fact that more of the respondents agree that gender plays a role in assessing the means of production.
Furthermore, the study also shows that gender inequality can hinder growth in the agricultural sector.it is also shown that climate change affects the agricultural sector and input but more importantly, that sustainable agricultural practices should be implemented in order to improve the agricultural sector.
