This paper aimed to improve the internal communication of a global organization by surveying the organization and giving suggestions on improvements based on the answers. Commisioning company’s quarterly surveys from December 2023 and March 2024 suggested that Global Inventory Planning organization was unhappy with the state of communication and collaboration.
Using the 7C’s of communication as a theoretical framework and the results of the company’s quarterly surveys a separate questionnaire was created and shared to all 40 of the personnel of the GIP organization. The questionnaire aimed to find the improvement needs and good practices of communication in use in the Global Inventoy Planning organization. The collected answers were used to analyze the current state of and make suggestions on how to improve communication in the GIP organization.
From the answers it was apparent that the largest issues are with the unclarity of roles of the teams and team members of the GIP organization. This was found out to be due to the rapid growth and recent organizational restructuring. The main point of improvement is clarifying the roles of the teams. It was also concluded that not all of the 7C’s are well covered in the communication of GIP organization mainly due to the before mentioned lack of role clarity.
