The thesis focused on e-commerce of handicraft in Finland. The research was concentrated on the individual customers. The research was done to know the interest in handicraft products and their practice of buying things online. The second research was done with the artisan of OMA Puoti to know their interest in selling their products online. The thesis was done to evaluate advantages and difficulties of e-commerce of handicraft in Finland.
Exploratory method (survey) was used to collect data. It is beneficial to establish e-commerce of handicraft. It provides wider reach and access to a global customer base and allows artisan to sell their products to larger audience. For local delivery hand cash can be used whereas for international delivery online payment and airways can be used. This thesis aimed to provide readers with an overview of establishing e-commerce of handicraft. This thesis focused on e-commerce integration in handmade businesses is gaining importance due to digital platforms' interconnectivity, offering market penetration, geographical limitations, and diverse client communication.
A variety of e-commerce-related papers, books, and internet resources were examined for theoretical analysis. Answers and main data were gathered through questionnaires. Tables and figures were used to help show the data that was gathered. Ultimately, the issues were thoroughly examined to determine what needed to be improved. The survey shed light on consumers' experiences with online shopping. The thesis outlined the main areas that customers believed needed improvement in web-based company.
