Tiivistelmä
The topic of the thesis is to study the impact of 6S methodology implementation in piece production CNC shop in the case of Tunturitec Oy. The work examines the impact on the overall effectiveness of 6S in the daily routine of CNC shops.
The purpose of the research is to understand the impact of the 6S method in batch manufacturing small-scale industry. The company manufacturing scale is small and mainly works in individual task. Most of the operators are working in the company as per their style and own understanding. The workshop is not clean and needs to be kept intact and clean. The tools are stored in multiple locations all over the shop and the operator needs to move all around to find tools. The goal of the thesis is to make production more efficient, easy availability of tools & adaptors, neat and clean work environment, and reduce machinist stress. The expected result from the study is to improve efficiency, optimize production, safe and clean work environment, and successfully implement the 6S in the company.
The theoretical part of the study was based on lean, 6S methodology, and continual development in production processes. The research method used was qualitative research.
