The thesis aimed to identify the support needs of VR Group’s supervisors in performance management and provide concrete development suggestions. The theoretical part covered the importance and challenges of leadership, employee engagement, and the supervisor’s role in coaching, goal setting, feedback, and well-being management.
In the research part, a limited group of supervisors whose teams’ work in the customer interface was interviewed. The research was conducted as a case study using qualitative individual interviews. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed. Findings revealed that large team sizes and administrative tasks hinder performance management. Supervisors excelled in managing employee well-being.
Development areas included considering individual motivation factors, the importance of feedback, and reviewing performance metrics also from a sales perspective. Supervisory skills needing improvement were time management, task prioritization, self-care, and focusing employees on essential tasks.
