Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this thesis is to provide an educational video of posture therapy, patient positioning, and pressure/weight redistributing to international nursing students at the Lapland University of Applied Sciences in Kemi, Northen Finland. Since the number of relevant materials and sources in English regarding the topic is quite limited, this thesis visualizes the importance of the process of positioning the patient to international students and audience in a video format in English with English and Finnish captions.
The aim of the thesis is to contribute to the knowledge and skills of nursing students about posture therapy, patient positioning, pressure/weight redistributing and the prevention of complications.
Lapland University of Applied Sciences requested a video guide on posture therapy as the commissioner of this thesis. The primary purpose of this thesis was to develop a video to contribute to the practical knowledge on patient positioning. The goal was to contribute to the awareness of correct posture and positioning techniques to prevent complications and bedsores in bedridden patients.
The video was recorded in the simulation room of the Lapland University of Applied Sciences in Kemi, and it is aimed primarily to the international nursing students.
