Tiivistelmä
This product-based thesis focuses on the development of a client-commissioned e-commerce website. It is divided into three main sections: theoretical, empirical, and reflective. The aim is to critically assess the website project by engaging with relevant literature, examining both the internal and external aspects of the development process. The theoretical portion delves into project planning, project management, and the evaluation of project success, particularly in terms of supplier and client satisfaction. It also explores the core principles of web design, user experience, and service quality, drawing on models like the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Service Quality (SERVQUAL), and Electronic Service Quality (e-SQ).
The empirical section presents the implementation of an ERP-integrated e-commerce website, including relevant sections of code and a review of the project’s architecture and data flow, as well as user interface. Due to client confidentiality, Figma models will illustrate key design elements to provide visual support for the critical evaluation of the user interface and its alignment with theoretical frameworks.
The reflective section provides an assessment of the project’s overall success and the quality of the website, comparing initial client expectations and project scope to the final product. This evaluation is supported by literature on project performance, client-provider dynamics, and success criteria. Additionally, this section reflects on the personal learning process and proposes potential future developments.
