Tiivistelmä
The present thesis revolves around the topics of entrepreneurship, Finland as an ageing country, the foreign portion of Finland’s population, the limits of an ageing brain, and financial analysis.
What follows is a preliminary study of a potential business endeavour, with the scope of creating a multilingual elderly care service to provide a proper solution for the foreign, ageing population of Finland.
The topic is vast, and the setup of such a facility requires several levels of analysis. For the purpose of this thesis, the focus is on the financial aspects. More specifically, two alternative solutions are suggested for the practical execution of this project, and the potential setup and running costs, together with profitability, are estimated for both alternatives.
To increase accuracy, a specific and strategic location was also suggested for the facility in question, and all the financial details are based on said location.
Furthermore, supporting literature regarding the effects of ageing on the brain, key statistical background information and preliminary market research accompany the financial analysis, in order to clarify the need for a multilingual elderly care service, and to investigate its actual feasibility in Finland.
The ultimate objective of the thesis is to explore the financing options and to provide a rough estimate of the possible costs and profitability opportunities this idea could generate. The results of this analysis offer the foundations to developa comprehensive framework to draft a formal proposal for potential investors and business partners.
