Abstract
In the recent years, the health care industry has completely dawned with the use of electronic medical records that have widely been adopted and transformed patient data management and clinical decision-making. The study investigated nursing students' experiences associated with the use of EMRs in clinical settings in terms of preparedness, acquisition of skills, and challenges perceived while using the EMRs. A systematic literature review method was applied, synthesizing findings through stringent inclusion criteria from relevant academic databases. Nuanced content analysis of the selected studies was done to identify recurring themes about students' digital literacy, confidence, and practical challenges.

Standardized training in EMR improved the nursing students' digital competencies and increased their confidence in electronic documentation. On the other hand, at times emotional tension was faced by the students: because of the lack of practice in working with an EMR and because the keeping of records is so overwhelmingly digital; at times, it led to compromised patient-centered care. These are indications that there must be a balanced method in training aimed at developing both the technical competence and social competencies.

In short, though EMRs are much-needed resources for contemporary healthcare, their integration into nursing curricula needs further optimization. Improved, standardized training in EMR skills, combined with a mechanism of emotional support, will better prepare nursing students for clinical practice in its digitized environment and make them better prepared for a professional health care environment.
