Centrian ulkomaalaistaustaisten tutkinto-opiskelijoiden osallisuuden tukeminen : monikulttuuriset tapahtumat tukena osallisuuden vahvistamiseen

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantajana toimi Centria-ammattikorkeakoulu. Kohderyhmänä toimi Centrian ulkomaalaistaustaiset tutkinto-opiskelijat. Toimeksiantaja ja kohderyhmä olivat mukana opinnäytetyön toteutuksessa.

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli kehittää Centrian opiskelijapalveluiden toimintaa ulkomaalaistaustaisten tutkinto-opiskelijoiden osallisuuden tukemiseksi ja vahvistamiseksi. Tarkoituksena oli järjestää kolme osallisuutta tukevaa tapahtumaa ja kerätä tietoa osallisuuden kokemuksista. Opinnäytetyö oli toiminnallinen ja siinä toteutettiin kehittämisprojekti, joka sisälsi nämä kolme osallisuutta tukevaa monikulttuurista tapahtumaa.

Tietoperustassa käsiteltiin opinnäytetyön keskeisiä teemoja, kuten osallisuutta ja monikulttuurista ohjaustyötä. Tietoperustassa tuotiin esille osallisuuden ulottuvuuksista ja osallisuuden merkityksestä yksilölle sekä monikulttuurisen ohjaustyön periaatteista. Tietoperustaa hyödynsimme toiminnallisessa projektissa.

Opinnäytetyön kehittämisprojektissa hyödynnettiin PDCA-mallia, jolla havainnollistettiin projektimme eteneminen. Lisäksi opinnäytetyössä hyödynnettiin Webropol-ohjelmaa palautekyselyn toteuttamiseen sekä Canva-ohjelmaa pelisääntöjen, tapahtumien mainosten ja monikulttuurisen ohjaustyön periaatteiden toteuttamiseen.

Opinnäytetyön keskeisiä tuloksia olivat toiminnalliset tapahtumat ja niistä kerätty palaute. Opinnäytetyö keräsi tietoa osallisuuden kokemuksista sekä kehittämisideoita Centrian toimintaa varten.

Centria University of Applied Sciences was the client of our thesis. The target group was Centria's degree students with a foreign background. The client and the target group were involved in the implementation of the thesis.

The purpose of the thesis was to develop the operation of Centria's student services to support and strengthen the inclusion of degree students who have moved here from abroad. The purpose was to organize three events supporting inclusion and to gather information about the experiences of inclusion. The thesis was functional, and a development project was implemented in it, which included these three multicultural events that supported inclusion. The aim of the thesis was to plan and implement a functional project.

The theoretical framework covered the central themes of the thesis, such as inclusion and multicultural supervision. In the theoretical framework, the dimensions of inclusion and the meaning of inclusion for the individual, as well as the principles of multicultural guidance work, were brought up. We used the theoretical framework in the creation of functional project.

In the thesis development project, the PDCA model was used to illustrate the progress of our project. In addition, the thesis utilized the Webropol program for the implementation of the feedback survey and the Canva program for the implementation of game rules, event advertisements and the principles of multicultural guidance work.

The central results of the thesis were the functional events, and the feedback collected from them. The thesis gathered a lot of useful information about the experiences of participation as well as development ideas for Centria's operations.
