Tiivistelmä
This thesis investigates the use of artificial intelligence to promote innovation in software development processes using a mixed-methods approach i.e. quantita tive analysis via structured questionnaires and qualitative analysis of responses from open-ended questions. The main objectives included an examination of the impact of AI on innovation and exploring the usage of different AI technologies, measurement of the effects of deploying AI on organizational performance, and the comparison of challenges to the application of AI for innovation. The findings revealed that AI Integration increases creative and problem-solving abilities helps innovate software features and increases the effectiveness of the team. Technologies such as AI automation tools, machine learning, and natural language pro cessing were found to be the most commonly incorporated technologies into software development.

However, the study also outlines some of the key challenges to AI implementa tion; the costs of integrating the technology are frequently high, the employees resist the change, and the integration of the new technology in the current systems is also challenging. Overcome such challenges needs to focus on change management, on the staff training, and on the cultural acceptation of technology. Organizations that manage to overcome all these challenges gain a significant competitive advantage that comes with use of artificial intelligence to advance operational efficiency and innovation. Future studies should look at the long-term effects of integrating AI in various industries and geographical locations to gain further insight into how to best adopt AI for long-term innovation and company expansion.
