Tiivistelmä
The integration of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, such as MISAS, holds significant potential to transform healthcare delivery in Nigeria by enhancing patient care, streamlining data management, and improving operational efficiency. Despite these advantages, the adoption and expansion of MISAS EMR remain slow, hindered by technological, organizational, financial, and cultural challenges. To help with its effective adoption, this thesis investigates the obstacles to MISAS EMR implementation and examines change management techniques, emphasising Kotter's 8-Step Change Model. Drawing on qualitative interviews with key stakeholders, the study identifies critical obstacles and provides actionable recommendations to address them. The findings aim to support the sustainable deployment of MISAS EMR across diverse healthcare settings in Nigeria, contributing to the broader goal of advancing digital health infrastructure in the region.
