Tiivistelmä
This thesis explores the integration of a diary-based training plan aimed at developing coaching competency while enhancing key physical components that underpin high-intensity actions in soccer. The primary objective was to design and implement an eight-week training program combining a task-based approach and game-specific exercises to simultaneously develop physical, tactical, and cognitive attributes in youth soccer players.

Grounded in motor learning theory, ecological dynamics, and reflective practice, the training plan replicated real-game conditions to ensure skill transfer and adaptability. The diary-based methodology facilitated structured observations, performance analysis, and real-time evaluation of training sessions, enabling continuous refinement of both player development strategies and coaching practices.

Conducted at Helsingin Pallo Seura (HPS), the program emphasized integrating physical conditioning with tactical demands, such as rapid acceleration, directional changes, and sustained high-intensity efforts during matches. Results from the program demonstrated significant improvements in players' physical capabilities and tactical awareness, alongside notable advancements in coaching competency through reflective practices.

This thesis highlights the importance of aligning theoretical frameworks with practical applications, offering valuable insights into how structured observation and reflective coaching can enhance player performance and professional development in youth soccer coaching.
