Tiivistelmä
This thesis explores the impact of conflict resolution on the profitability of small restaurant businesses. The aim of the study is to understand how different conflict management strategies affect key operational outcomes, such as employee performance, team dynamics, customer satisfaction, and business profitability.
Through a comprehensive literary review, the research identifies that conflicts are an inherent part of human interaction, with several factors contributing to their occurrence within the restaurant industry, including high-stress environments, diverse employee backgrounds, and the fast-paced nature of the service industry. The study also reveals that the manner in which conflicts are resolved, can significantly influence both employee morale and the financial performance of a restaurant.
Key findings emphasize that effective conflict resolution positively impacts profitability, while poor management of conflicts can lead to negative outcomes.
Based on the literature reviewed, the study provides recommendations for restaurant managers and employees on how to handle conflicts using various conflict resolution methods. These include leveraging the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument and Lewin's Motivational Conflicts Theory to guide decision-making and improve conflict management strategies.
The findings of this research offer valuable insights into how small restaurant businesses can address conflicts in a way that fosters a positive work environment and enhances profitability.
