Tiivistelmä
This thesis delves into Finnish fashion shows' history, the implications of technology, and sustainability. From their beginnings in the late 1800s, fashion shows have changed and developed alongside society. Nevertheless, certain essential features of fashion shows persist today. The research goal is to examine the relevance of fashion shows in the present and how they are evolving in Finland. The primary focus is on understanding the present and historical events of fashion shows in Finland from the light of technological integration and its shift toward sustainability.
The study is divided into three main parts: the history of fashion shows, the integration of technology and sustainability in fashion shows, and interviews with four Finnish fashion industry experts who share their perspectives. The thesis examines the Finnish culture of fashion shows throughout its chapters.
This study examines the evolution of Finnish fashion shows, tracing their transformation from glamorous, Paris-inspired events to technology-driven and sustainability-focused showcases. Through historical analysis and participant insights, the findings reveal how Finnish fashion has embraced ecological consciousness, technological advancements, and a distinct national identity within the fashion industry.
