Abstract

This article delves into the unique and specific recruitment challenges faced by Finnish universities of applied sciences, particularly in the IT sector. It presents the experiences of one University of Applied Sciences in the recruitment process and describes the factors influencing the selection of teachers. The article also shares practical experiences, especially in recruiting IT teachers, to underscore the distinct challenges of this sector. These practical experiences, rich in insights and learnings, provide real-world insights into the recruitment process. Lastly, it examines the factors that shape the decisions of teaching position applicants and what influences their acceptance of the position.
